Write a telegram . . .

Compose a telegram — a brief note that could be sent over the wires. Oh, I guess this sounds like an email, or a text message. But doesn’t “telegram” sound dramatic and perhaps romantic?

Nostalgic for some people, a curiosity for others.

Prompt #121

So . . . write a telegram to someone who has touched your life in a significant way. Have your message tell him or her something you wish you could say in person. Or, if the person is no longer in your life, what do you wish you could have said?

You could also write a telegram to or from your fictional character.

    On a completely unserious note : This is a singing telegram ( preferably sung by a bovine wearing tap shoes) …. to the tune of “Winter Wonderland” –

    Cowbells ring, are you listening
    Paula Lane, turkey’s visiting
    A beautiful sight
    Tho’ it’s muddy, not white
    Christmas time in ‘Luma Pastureland

    Gone away is the sunbird ( that would be me)
    “writespotblog” is my new word
    I struggle at home
    To complete every poem
    Missing Petaluma Pastureland

    In the summer I could go to “Jumpstart”
    Process thoughts and then I’d write them down
    Marlene helps me put it all together
    Including winter, when I’m not in town

    Later on, I will edit
    But Marlene gets the credit
    She makes writing fun
    I never feel “done”
    I miss my ‘Luma writing special friend.

    *feel free to incorporate “jazz hands” and the occasional “kick ball change” where appropriate

      Omigosh, Heartmom. This is absolutely adorable! Thank you for posting! We need to clone you, so you can be in two places at once! Now I’ve got that tune in my head. . . Cowbells ring, are you listening? Love it!
